I recently went to visit a friend in a small community known as Levice (Lay-vee-say). As you can see, they have their own castle in Levice which is positioned right near the center of town. This is the first castle I have seen which is not perched high atop a cliff or mountainside. The castle is referred to as the Gothic castle.

Ahoj Scott- i was looking for a specific web site one day. i never found it, but i came across your blog site. slovakia has a special place in my heart. so i was intrigued by your experiences and your honest seeking of truth as you work through culture shock. isn't it an amazing experience to have everything you ever took for granted in knowing how to live and act within a culture you grew up in...challenged!
well i was laughing out loud when i saw your most recent pictures! Kontakt cafe...the website i was trying to find when i stummbled onto yours! what a small world. and i got to see my very dear friend, Edita, getting harnessed and ready to climb the wall! i met Laci through edita last october when i was visiting Levice.
i live in Rockford, IL and my home church has a partnership with the Cirka Bratska in Levice.
i put a picture of the cafe on my blog site just to see the hilarity of it!
thanks for your honest thoughts. may the Lord be glorified and be made known while you are serving Him in Slovakia!
Dobry den,
erica
